826 National is proud to announce a featured student writer in the Stop Bullying: Speak Up Writing Challenge, presented in collaboration with Cartoon Network and The FriXion Erasable Pen by Pilot Pen: Tesa, a third grader from Georgia!

Tesa’s story is now a 30-second animated vignette made by GiantAnt animation. It’s currently airing across Cartoon Network’s television, digital, and social platforms to help elevate student voices as they’re heading back to school this fall.

The Stop Bullying: Speak Up Writing Challenge has its roots in Cartoon Network’s award-winning “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” initiative with 826 National, and is a collaboration between Cartoon Network and Pilot Pen that distributed 500 bookmaking kits to classrooms and educators nationwide this year. The kits integrated beloved Cartoon Network characters and FriXion Clicker Erasable Gel Ink Pens and included lessons developed by 826 National. The lessons, now available to all educators on 826 Digital, are based on our internationally celebrated approach to teaching writing and are designed to inspire dialogue among students while supporting educators as they raise awareness of bullying.

The bookmaking kits also introduced a writing challenge to students — asking them to detail how kindness and understanding help stop bullying before it starts. Tesa’s story was chosen to be brought to life by animators to raise awareness for the “Stop Bullying: Speak Up” initiative.

Join us in celebrating Tesa’s story — watch it in the video below, share it, and help us spread the word to stop bullying before it starts.
