Volunteering at your local 826 chapter is one of the best ways to support students and teachers. Visit their volunteer page to learn more.

Every student is different, and it’s really, really wonderful working with them because they’re serious about what they want to do. I give them someone to hear what they’re saying, and help them express how to say what they want to do.

No resume required

Some of our volunteers are professional writers, but the only requirement is a passion for creativity and an open mind. Every year, we’re joined by more than 5,000 artists, college students, parents, bankers, lawyers… and every vocation in-between.
