We are pleased to introduce 826 Digital’s inaugural 826 Digital Educator Leaders!
These inspiring educators will contribute to the 826 Digital community this year by: engaging in a community of practice; amplifying and celebrating student voices and the resources available on 826 Digital; and contributing their perspective to the future of 826 Digital.
We formed the 826 Digital Educator Leaders cohort with the aim to connect a diverse group of educators across the country through the power and joy of writing. See how these eleven members are committed to supporting young authors in their classrooms and communities.

[two-thirds] Tom J. Bonzon is a science teacher serving students in New Mexico. Tom is passionate about infusing creativity into science writing. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Meghan Dove McAfee is a youth worker living in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Meghan comes from the out-of-school-time world and is deeply passionate about amplifying young people’s voices through the craft of writing. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Teaching was not Marini Drobish‘s first career, but over the years she discovered the power of young adult literature and how it can bring diversity and student choice to her classroom curriculum in South Carolina. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Rebecca Glaser is Senior Program Developer for literacy and social emotional learning programs at School on Wheels, a nonprofit providing tutoring to children experiencing homelessness in California. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Alana Herron is a transplant from Chicago, but has lived in San Francisco with her family for decades. She appreciates the beauty of the Bay Area and looks to the library for answers! [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Ashley Houston–King is a Ph.D. student at Boston University studying Language and Literacy in Education. Her research interests include studying the intersections of identities, race, and Blackness in education. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Mallory Miller is a fifth year middle school ELA teacher in Michigan who loves: choice reading, creative writing, her two pitbulls, and unique antiques. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Andrea Nelson (she/her) is the Director of Education at 826DC where she has the privilege of leading a team of incredible educators and supporting young D.C. authors. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Kathy Seipp believes in the power of writing and loves to inspire Minnesota students of all ages to write creatively and to share their own stories. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Lindsay Thompson, a 5th-generation teacher, has 22 years of experience teaching high school English in Missouri. She understands the importance of building strong relationships with her students and is always looking for ways to help students be more confident writers. [/two-thirds]

[two-thirds] Leah Tribbett teaches 7th grade ELA and Social Studies in Boston, Massachusetts. In her role, Leah has written original curriculum, planned and led both department and whole staff PD, managed a whole school curriculum around identity, and mentored new teachers. [/two-thirds]
