We’re honored to support a growing movement of educators—over 20,000 strong—through 826 Digital. Together, we’ve helped over 750,000 students gain confidence in their voice and grow their writing skills.

I loved how [826 Digital] engaged and challenged students while still allowing them to think creatively. I truly loved using these resources! So fun and effective for my students.

We know how critical the first few weeks are for building positive relationships with students and boosting their confidence as writers. That’s why we’re so excited to share a new Back-to-School Collection on 826 Digital, full of resources that will help you and your students start on the “write” foot:

Educator Tools

The First Weeks: Building Relationships Through Writing (Grades 1-12)
For students, the first week of school can be a mixed bag of emotions. Start off the year on the “write” foot by incorporating writing activities that make space for students to introduce themselves, get to know each other, and set writing goals for the year ahead.

Writing to Discover Yourself (Grades 1-12)
This Educator Tool is designed to help you support students along their journeys in positive identity development. Through introspective writing activities and relatable mentor texts, students practice using writing to uncover their strengths, to explore their emotions, and to solidify their values.

Sparks

My Name Is (Grades 1-5)
Students create a self-portrait and write an acrostic name poem that can be used as a way to introduce themselves to their classmates.

Creative Recipes (Grades 1-6+)
If this lesson were a recipe, it would get a 5-star review. Students reimagine the genre of recipe writing by creating a recipe describing what they’re made of.

Character-O-Matic: Who I Am (Grades 4-12)
Students use a “character-o-matic” to develop a profile that reflects their own identities.

Teachers, thank you for bringing 826 into your classrooms. We are cheering for you and your students at the start of the year, and always. To see more Sparks, Lessons, and Educator Tools, check out the Resource Library on 826 Digital!
