We are immensely proud of former 826 Valencia student Sally Men Wao, whose new book of poetry was recently featured in the New Yorker Magazine. Sally has managed to perfectly encapsulate what it looks like to live in a digital age, combining poetry and technology in a truly astounding work of art.
Her book, Oculus, “explores what it means to see and be seen in a digital age, when everyone’s watching” and is full of poems “haunted by images of human faces staring out from all kinds of screens, faces that are themselves screens upon which the world projects its fantasies and anxieties.”
