At 826 National, the Senior Communications Manager plays a vital role in shaping and sharing our story with the world. This leader crafts strategic, on-brand messages that amplify the voices of our students and keep our mission fresh and compelling across all platforms. As a key guardian of our brand, the Senior Communications Manager collaborates closely with the Chief Development Officer, CEO, and Chief of Staff to ensure that our external and internal communications consistently reflect our organizational identity and values, as defined through written words, public platforms and advocacy, and online and print collateral.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating powerful narratives that highlight why writing matters, champion writing education, and address the issues impacting our students’ communities and the country at large. Your work will amplify our reach, engaging media, volunteers, donors, and the broader public to deepen their connection to our mission, establishing our organization and students as thought leaders. 

This is a full-time, remote position located in the Bay Area, with occasional travel and out-of-hours work required.
