Michelle Obama Says Hello to 826DC

November 2, 2018

“Keep writing, keep working hard, and know that I’m thinking about you, and I’m proud of you.”

Last week, magic really happened at 826DC when students received a special message from fellow writer, Michelle Obama.

Writing can be hard sometimes, but the former first lady wowed our students with encouragement to keep telling their stories. In support of writers coming together to share their words, Mrs. Obama generously  extended an invitation for 80 high school seniors from 826DC to join her at her I Am Becoming book tour stop in Washington D.C.

Thank you, Mrs. Obama, and Reach Higher for inspiring our students to continue writing a brave, new world!
